Yeah, I'm not sure of the lineage of all of these "Camps".

Another thing I'm not sure of is whether Jerry model Consultant's Camp on Harrison Owen's Open Space Technology, or even whether he was aware of OST at the time.

Oh... a local techie started "SocialDevCamp" (east). Today is the 1st of its kind. It's a 1 day thing (I assume, for now). It's an off-shoot of BarCamp, which is an off-shoot of FooCamp, etc. Nowhere do any of these "camps" reference or acknowledge Jerry's "camps".

It seems that Consultant's Camp may, in fact, be among the progenitors of all of these "Camps" in the US. Especially where they have technology at their lowest commonality. It certainly pre-dates any of the other ones.

While there's nothing bad or wrong that they don't mention Camp as part of the history, I wonder whether it would be appropriate (for Jerry's legacy's sake) and or for simple edification of the historical back-story, to create an entry on Wikipedia to Consultant's Camp, and then see about linking the other camp concepts back to it.

It would be very surprising to me if Tim O'Reilly's FooCamp (and subsequent BarCamp) wasn't in any way connected to Consultant's Camp. That would really unusual that nearly identical formats and processes evolved independently.

Sorry, Hillel, I was fiddling with old posts. In the process I accidentally sent out a few mistaken "new post" notices for old posts. Like this one, from 2006.
